Force Control Industries has introduced the Size 30 Posidyne clutch brake, featuring its oil shear technology that can be operated as a clutch only for applications such as pumps or fans or as a clutch brake for cycling or indexing applications.
The clutch brake, according to the company, accelerates or decelerates high inertia loads without wear on friction discs. The Size 30, which provides smooth acceleration or deceleration through the oil shear technology, is claimed to be ideal for mining applications such as undergrouind or load-out conveyor systems, and bulk loading applications such as rail car dumpers, portside conveyors and other critical applications.
