Walz Scale reported it received the National Conference on Weights and Measures legal-for-trade certification for the Walz Scanner volumetric measurement system. The certification is the first of its kind in the U.S.A., and verifies the Walz Scanner to be the most accurate volumetric bulk measurement system on the market, the company reported.
The system uses laser technology to scan and measure bulk material loads in trucks and rail cars. It operates similar to truck and rail scales, but allows operations to achieve legal-for-trade volumetric load measurements while the vehicle is in motion.
The Walz Scanner can replace or be used in conjunction with scales. The system features a built-in ticketing system, offers graphical load images, and is cloud-based with iOS and Android App integration. Installation and operation are simple, the company said. Adoption includes a 12-month software subscription.
