CR Mining announced the DecaEdge DE1545 nine-station cast lip for small to large mining wheel loaders. It is designed to last up to 25,000 hours without major rebuilds, which translates to a 33% reduction in total running costs, the company reported.

The DE1545 are attached mechanically, and thus require less welding. The lip has a sensor cavity so the solution can be used with CR Mining’s digital products, which alert the operator if the lip breaks off while digging.

Combining the supplier’s Titan 3330 optimization system with the DE1545 helps the user monitor cast lip and bucket performance, machine health and payload accuracy.

The lips are for buckets with capacities between 14 m3 and 20 m3. The solution is part of the DecaEdge cast lip range, which can deliver up to 7% less downtime, 34% more strength, a 27% reduction in mass, and a 30% reduction in digging force, CR Mining reported.
