ThermaCELL heated footwear insoles are rechargeable to keep a worker’s feet warm for up to 500 uses, according to the manufacturer, Schwabel Corp. The water-resistant insoles offer regulated heat, using sensors that maintain consistent temperature for up to five hours per charge. Users can adjust for comfort with a small wireless remote that has three settings: medium, high or off. Lithium-ion polymer batteries fully recharge in less than four hours and require no external straps or packs. The batteries can be changed easily without removing the insole from the footwear—just pull the battery out and replace—and are covered with Poron, an antimicrobial, shock-absorbing cushion. Insoles come in five sizes and can be trimmed to fit most types of work or outdoor footwear.
