Stracon Group, a leading mining services group focused on North and South America, acquired AMECO South America from Fluor Corp.
With operations concentrated in Chile, AMECO is a mining equipment rental business with a fleet of 1,000 specialty assets. It serves, among others, Antofagasta Minerals, BHP, Capstone Copper, Codelco and Lumina Copper.
The development will add both scope and scale to Stracon’s operations, increase revenues by 25%, and add new service lines and geographies, Stracon Group said. “It will not only strengthen our ability to bid on major projects in the region, but also further diversify our revenue streams,” said CEO Steve Dixon. “We are abundantly aware of the importance of AMECO’s leadership team and the continued commitment of its employees.”
