Roof Support Tunneling Vancouver Island
DSI’s 139 Pipe Umbrella Support System, the DYWI Drill spiles and face bolts, and PANTEX Lattice Girders were used to rebuild a section of the main access tunnel to the John Hart Generating Station, on Vancouver Island. During the modernization of the station, weak ground was encountered about halfway through the tunnel. DSI and other teams spearheaded an excavation and the project. The station has been operating since 1947.
