Pybar announced an Eraser drill rig exceeded expectations and achieved a company-first at Aurelia Metals’ Hera underground gold/copper mine in western New South Wales. The rig’s initial scope of works allowed the Pybar team to test and prove all three of the rig’s drilling modes: boxhole, down reaming and conventional. The initial scope at Hera was for 2-m x 1.4-m conventional reamed escapeways, which to date is the largest reamer used on an Easer machine. Later, the scope of works increased to 3-mm x 750-mm down reams, and 7-mm x 750-mm boxholes. Completing all three in the field amounted to a company-first.
