VIST Group announced its Orlaco collision avoidance system was adopted by Polyus for deployment across its entire fleet.
In 2017, a similar Orlaco solution was deployed to the miner’s Krasnoyarsk operations. According to the results of the customer satisfaction survey, 77% of operators were fully satisfied with the system and its ease of use, 78% noted an increase in the level of safety, and 75% said the additional visibility, even in the dark, was beneficial, VIST Group reported.
The system is comprised of radars and cameras mounted on the equipment and a display in each cab. Features include a warning system. The system is billed as providing operators with greater control in all weather conditions for increased safety, VIST Group reported.
