Montabert USA announced new in-house repair and remanufacturing capabilities at the company’s North American Operations facility in Nashville, Illinois, USA.
The expanded Montabert Distribution and Service Center comprises 4,650 m2 of space that is used for work on Montabert’s hydraulic breakers and for distribution of the complete product line, centralized parts warehousing, and shipping throughout North America.
With the expansion, Montabert added a pit into which breakers can be lowered for the extraction of power cells and for inspections and maintenance. The facility also features a 9-metric ton crane and a hydraulic power unit for breaker testing prior to shipping.
Supporting the new capabilities is a full-time factory-trained breaker technician, leadership at the location said. “Our repair and rebuild turnaround for breaker customers has been cut by three days, which, in an industry where downtime costs add up quickly, is immense,” said Amanda Carpenter, distribution manager. “Our strategic location in South Central Illinois, with the proximity of interstate highways, also cuts down on transport costs for our customers and for us.”
Current capabilities for the facility include in-house rebuilds of Montabert’s complete line of hydraulic breakers. The company plans to also offer rebuilds for Montabert drifters and its line of Silent Demolition equipment.
Prior to the Nashville facility expansion, rebuilds and repairs in the U.S. were handled at a partner facility in Tennessee.
