Epiroc held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new treatment plant for rock drills in Örebro, Sweden.

The plant is expected to enable the company to “boost rock drill quality and performance,” lower total cost of ownership for the customer, and increase drill productivity, Epiroc reported. “The investment is a key step toward ensuring that this first-class manufacturing site remains as productive and competitive as possible for the long term,” Helena Hedblom, senior executive vice president, mining and infrastructure, Epiroc, said.

Continuous production at the 1,400-m2 plant is calendared to start in late 2020, the company reported. Örebro is an Epiroc global manufacturing hub.
