Thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions has been contracted by Southern Copper to supply grinding equipment for a plant extension and to increase the throughput of an existing plant at the Toquepala copper mine in southern Peru.
Two Polycom 24/17 high-pressure grinding rolls similar to those shown in the accompanying photo, and two ball mills will be installed in a new concentrator rated at 60,000 t/d. To increase the throughput of the existing concentrator from 51,000 to 60,000 t/d of copper ore, thyssenkrupp is supplying a Polycom 24/17 high-pressure grinding roll, belt conveyor systems with accessories, a comprehensive electrical and structural steel work.
