Jon Cherry has accepted the position of president and CEO of Perpetua Resources. He replaces Laurel Sayer, who announced retirement plans after leading the company through the permitting process for seven years. Cherry most recently served as chairman, president, and CEO of PolyMet Mining. Before Polymet, he was a senior leader for Resolution Copper, general manager of Rio Tinto’s Eagle mine, and senior project engineer at Rio Tinto Kennecott Utah Copper. Cherry will lead the Perpetua Resources team as the Stibnite gold project completes permitting and transitions into development and operations. Perpetua also added Jessica Largent, the company’s CFO, to its board.
