Metso introduced the Vertimill 7000, which the supplier described as “the world’s most powerful screw-type stirred mill.” With more grinding power compared to predecessor models, the unit is engineered to lower total cost of ownerhip.
Metso said the mill features the same high energy-efficiency as the previous models, but with more than 50% more power. “In addition, it is equipped with double door access, so less space is needed to open the doors,” said Graham Davey, director, stirred mills.
“The unit has also been equipped with side discharge grinding media ports to avoid double handling of the media during service operations,” he said. The mill can be used for grinding almost any type of ore. “Typically, these robust stirred mills are used for regrinding, secondary and tertiary grinding as well as for lime slaking.”
With long component lifetimes, the mill has a 50% smaller footprint than does predecessor models, Metso said. “Vertimill grinding mills are part of Metso’s Planet Positive offering and provide up to 40% better energy efficiency than ball mills.”
