Superior Industries announced “the most significant redesign to conveyor idlers in decades.” The new design features a new weld joint and new bearing seals.
The new weld joint creates a flush end disc, which “prevents material entrapment between roll and frame,” Superior Industries said. The “weld bead is securely housed within the roll’s structure, ensuring added durability.” The welding method gives “greater weld penetration and extreme consistency.”
The new idler bearing seal designs are the result of a decade of rigorous testing and offer “an unmatched bearing protection system,” the supplier said. The lifespan of the new seals “surpasses all other models tested.”
The manufacturing of the idlers now uses more robotics for “a level of consistency previously unseen,” Superior Industries said.
The performance of the new idlers exceeds the preexisting performance standards of the company, leadership at the supplier said. “We’re excited for conveyor owners and operators to benefit from this upgrade,” said Jason Adams, president.
