Agru GeoClay is a reinforced needle-punched geosynthetic clay liner (GCL) consisting of a uniform layer of granular bentonite, encapsulated between two nonwoven geotextiles. It is intended for use on moderate to steep slopes and moderate to high load applications, where increased internal shear strength is required. Features of Agru GeoClay include 19-ft (5.8-m) roll widths, claimed to be the largest in the industry and allowing for up to 20% reduction in seams; hydraulic superiority when compared with several feet of compacted clay; high internal and interface shear strength interface for slope stability; self-healing and self-sealing capabilities inherent in its natural sodium bentonite; compatibility with typical MSW leachates and mining solutions; and more efficient installation when compared with traditional compacted clay layers. One truckload of GeoClay covers 0.75 acre.
