The wildfire evacuation order for Teck Resources Ltd.’s Highland Valley Copper Operations (HVC) in south-central British Columbia issued by the District of Logan Lake announced on August 15 has been lifted. HVC has resumed operations and is now in the process of ramping back up to full production.

Teck said it is focused on protecting the health and safety of employees and contractors and continues to closely monitor wildfire and regional air quality conditions.

Copper production guidance will be updated after the risk of further effect on operations from wildfires subsides, according to the company. Copper production in 2021 was previously anticipated to be between 128,000 and 133,000 metric tons.
