Normet describes its Variomec XS product line as an agile and compact purpose-built carrier developed to provide a safe platform for several different underground transportation applications. It has been designed with safety, total cost of ownership and payload capacity in mind. The XS carrier fits to 3.5- x 3.5-m opening and it can be used to transport up to 4 tons of payload, either personnel transportation, transportation of goods or both.
The personnel configuration, the Variomec XS 115 Personnel, is a compact underground bus that can carry 13 miners. The roomy personnel compartment is FOPS/ROPS approved and can be equip with heating and A/C. Equipped as a service vehicle, the Variomec XS 040 Material is a compact material transportation vehicle with a roomy platform and a low loading height and crane. The Variomec XS 035 Crew version is compact mine service vehicle which has a platform with a 3.5-ton carrying capacity, crane and roomy compartment for three miners, in addition to the three miners in the operator’s cabin.
