Mississippi Lime Co. has executed a definitive agreement to acquire the Calera, Alabama, lime business of Covia, operating historically as Southern Lime. The Calera business supplies high-calcium quicklime and hydrated lime products to customers in the southeastern U.S., and across a range of end uses and applications.

This acquisition helps Mississippi Lime enter the southeast market and continue to grow its customer and market base, Ayers added.
Covia has been in operation for more than 60 years and will increase Mississippi Lime’s production facilities to nine. The business will be fully integrated into existing operations.
