K+S Potash Canada GP (KSPC) has been named one of Saskatchewan’s Top Employers for the sixth time. This designation follows KSPC being named one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers for 2019 in November for the second year in a row.

“K+S Potash Canada is proud to maintain our top employer designation provincially and nationally,” said Sam Farris, president and general manager, operations, K+S Potash Canada. “We’ve experienced a lot of changes moving from a project into operations, but the one constant has been our strong team. We’ve learned a lot together.”

K+S Potash Canada’s Bethune mine has been operating since spring of 2017. The company employs a little more than 400 people between the mine in Bethune, headquarters in Saskatoon and a small logistics office in Vancouver.

Since joining Saskatchewan’s potash industry in 2012, the company has been committed to being a good employer and a prominent member of the industry.

“We’re proud to be recognized among some of our peers in the industry as top employers in the province,” said Dan Ross, manager, human resources. “We believe the mining industry has and will continue to offer great opportunities to the people of Saskatchewan. We’re happy to be here.”

Saskatchewan’s Top Employers is an annual competition organized by the Leader-Post and The Star Phoenix. Employers are evaluated by the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers using the same eight criteria as the national competition: (1) Physical Workplace; (2) Work Atmosphere & Social; (3) Health, Financial & Family Benefits; (4) Vacation & Time Off; (5) Employee Communications; (6) Performance Management; (7) Training & Skills Development; and (8) Community Involvement. Employers are compared to other organizations in their field to determine which offers the most progressive and forward-thinking programs.
