nightColombian mining company Gran Colombia Gold has increased its total production during the first five months of the year. It produced 17,936 ounces (oz) of gold and 18,569 oz of silver at its Segovia project in Antioquia in May.

The miner achieved a total of 84,467 oz of gold and 95,342 oz of silver, compared to 78,661 oz of gold and 72,309 oz of silver in the first five months of 2020. The company processed 49,089 metric tons (mt) in May at its Maria Dama plant, representing a daily processing rate of 1.58 mt per day (mt/d) and head grades that averaged 12.63 grams/mt for the month. Consequently, the daily processing rate during the first five months of 2021 averaged 1.52 mt/d with an average grade of 12.72 g/mt.

Total gold production for Gran Colombia in the last 12 months amounted to 202,161 oz, and the company expects to produce between 200,000 and 220,000 oz of gold in 2021 from the Segovia operation.
