EquinoxLosFilos-1680x600The union blockade at Equinox Gold Corp.’s Los Filos mine in Mexico has been removed, access to the mine has been restored and operations have resumed, according to the company.

Certain members of the Xochipala community remain illegally camped near the Guadalupe and Bermejal open pits, disrupting mining activities in this area of the operation only. Los Filos representatives said they continue to engage with government and Xochipala representatives to achieve a resolution.

The shares of the miner closed with a gain of 6.40% at $6.65. In after-hours trading, they extended their earnings by 1.2%

The Los Filos mining complex began commercial production in 2008 and was acquired by Leagold in 2017. The Canadian group assumed ownership following its merger with Leagold in March 2020.
