The 14Xe ePowertrain is designed for scalability and can be adapted to fit various electric powertrain needs based on the vehicle application and duty cycle.

Cummins recently completed its $3.7 billion acquisition of Meritor, Inc., a leading supplier of powertrain solutions. The integration of Meritor’s people, products and capabilities in axle and brake technology will position Cummins as a leading integrated powertrain solutions provider across internal combustion and electric power applications, the company said.

“Together, Cummins and Meritor will move further and faster in developing economically viable decarbonized powertrain solutions that are better for people and our planet,” Cummins President and CEO Jennifer Rumsey said.

As demand for decarbonized solutions accelerates, ePowertrains will be a critical integration point within hybrid and electric drivetrains creating packaging and performance differentiation and the opportunity to provide advanced clean mobility products. The acquisition also adds products to Cummins’ components business that present attractive growth opportunities across the company’s range of power solutions and applications.
