The governments of Peru and Brazil have signed a bilateral agreement on the development of small-scale mining and on the use of renewable energies, according to the Peruvian Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM).

“The agreement signed by Minister of Energy and Mines Francisco Ísmodes and his Brazilian counterpart, Bento Albuquerque, reaffirms the interest of both governments to deepen bilateral cooperation in areas such as small-scale mining, energy planning, radioactive materials and training professional,” MEM reported.

The signing of the agreement took place during the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) convention. The agreement stated that Peru will send a mission to Brazil to find other areas of cooperation in the sector so the scope of the agreement can be increased.
