Stantec has acquired MWH Global, a 6,800-person engineering, consulting, and construction management firm focused on water and natural resources for built infrastructure and the environment. With award-winning project work and 187 offices distributed across 26 countries, the acquisition expands Stantec’s position as a global leader in water resources infrastructure.

In the mining industry, MWH has 40 years of experience and is home to industry leading experts in the design and management of mining projects. With the acquisition of MWH, Stantec is now a community of approximately 22,000 people working in more than 400 locations. Its mining team now has increased expertise and resources to serve a wider variety of projects from offices in the United States, Canada, Latin America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. It also expands Stantec’s current service capabilities in the areas of tailings dam design, mine waste management, mine water treatment and management, environmental services, and mine planning.
