SGS announced that its newly expanded, fully equipped, 68,000ft2 laboratory facility in Burnaby, an eastern suburb of Vancouver, Canada, is now open and accepting samples. The facility has been strategically designed and relocated to offer a full suite of integrated geochemistry, metallurgy, mineralogy and trade services, as well as environmental testing services for the exploration and mining industry. The official opening of the new facility will be held in early 2013.

This is part of SGS’ ongoing North American growth strategy which, in Canada alone, includes a significant investment in excess of $25 million and the construction of 125,000ft2 of laboratory space. Clients will benefit from this integrated approach to projects through better planning of test work resources resulting in projects progressing quickly through each stage and achieving faster speed-to-market.

The lab functions as a central hub in SGS’ global network of facilities offering a comprehensive suite of integrated services. For further information regarding these and other SGS services, visit www.sgs.com/mining.
