Whether rescuing workers thousands of miles from the nearest hospital, or establishing long-distance physician consulting for miners on the far ends of the earth, Remote Medical International now stands to further its global reach via $8 million from a Seattle capital investment firm.

Columbia Pacific Management, which owns 23 hospitals in India, Malaysia, Vietnam and Indonesia, through a partnership with Columbia Asia—a related company—will allow Remote Medical to use Columbia Asia hospitals as its operational bases in Asia.

“Together, Columbia Pacific and Remote Medical will deliver quality care, advanced medical training, pharmaceuticals, telemedicine and medical equipment virtually anywhere there is a need,” said Remote Medical International CEO Brian Vincent, adding he expects company growth at 60% in 2013.

Brandon Baty, who oversees Columbia Pacific’s Asia Investments, agreed. “We saw an opportunity to combine the strengths of both companies.  Our investment will help the company expand and meet its full potential,” he said. www.remotemedical.com
