Syncrude initiated a repair schedule and return-to-service plan for the Mildred Lake Oil Sands facility following a mid-March outage that disrupted operations there, Suncor announced yesterday. The repair schedule seeks to restart pipeline shipments at approximately 50% capacity in early May. Full production is slated for the end of June.

An investigation showed that the damage was largely isolated to a pipe rack adjacent to the hydrotreater, Suncor reported. The plant is currently operating at reduced rates, and Suncor will continue to assist in inventory management.

The outage will not change overall production guidance for 2017 as strong production from oil sands and offshore operations should offset its impact, Suncor reported.
