G-Resources Group has reached several key commissioning milestones as it prepares to commence first commercial gold production at its Martabe gold mining project in North Sumatra, Indonesia. Construction has been completed on the primary crusher and conveyors, and first ore was fed through the crusher and delivered to the stockpile, according to the company. The SAG and ball mill commissioning has been completed. Other commissioning activities are proceeding according to plan, including water commissioning of CIL leaching tanks, and commissioning in reagents areas. Construction of desorption and gold room is nearing completion. The first fill of reagents and consumables for startup have been delivered to the process plant. Additionally, overall piping installation for the plant is more than 95% complete and electrical and instrumentation installation is more than 85% complete.

“With commissioning proceeding at pace and ore processing moving ahead, we are in the final push toward the first gold pour in July,” said Peter Albert, CEO, G-Resources. “We’ve seen great progress by our team in these past few months. Everyone is excited about the prospect of first gold, which is now very close.” Based in Asia, G-Resources’ core starter asset is Martabe, which has a resource base of 7.86 million oz of gold and 73.48 million oz of silver. Martabe is targeting to commence production in July 2012 at a rate of 250,000 oz/y of gold and 2-3 million oz/y of silver.
