Grasberg Miners Return to Work

Production resumed at Freeport Indonesia’s Grasberg mine last week, as roughly 8,000 striking employees returned to work. The short-lived strike stopped production at the mine, but it was not expected to have a long-term impact on production. Freeport forecasts call for 2011 sales from Grasberg of 1 billion lb of copper and 1.3 million oz of gold.
