FLSmidth has been awarded a contract worth approximately $65 million from Vale for the supply of material handling equipment to the Port of Nacala in Mozambique. The contract comprises delivery of 15 complete conveyor systems, including all mechanical and structural components as well as transfer towers, chutes, magnets, belt scales, a lubrication system, skirts and supports.

Coal exports from Mozambique are growing rapidly and the material handling equipment will enhance the Vale export facilities. “The winning of this order reflects the good working relationship that exists between Vale and FLSmidth. We have previously delivered materials handling equipment for Vale’s Moatize coal mine in Mozambique and the positive results have paved the way for our continued collaboration,” said Group CEO Jørgen Huno Rasmussen.
