Dassault Systèmes has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Gemcom Software International for $360 million. Dassault, a leader in 3-D design, digital mock up and product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions, provides virtual universes to imagine sustainable innovations.

Gemcom, a privately-held Vancouver-based company provides software solutions for the mining sector. During its 27 year history, Gemcom moved from an owner-managed company, through a merger with Surpac, to a small cap public company before being taken private again. Each one of these experiences, according to Gemcom, has been a great step toward where the company stands today.

Gemcom and Dassault Systèmes will be creating a new brand, GEOVIA, to transform technology for the natural resources sector.
