Officials at Atlas Copco Underground Rock Excavation Division announced a cooperative agreement with BASF Construction Chemicals Europe Ltd. to further offer expertise on sustainable sprayed concrete. This deal follows Atlas Copco’s acquisition of MEYCO Equipment’s sprayed concrete manufacturer in Winterthur, Switzerland, from BASF; MEYCO Global Underground Constructions is a world leader in sprayed concrete for mining and tunneling applications.
“The cooperation will focus on innovative concrete spraying solutions with high performance and availability,” said Bob Fassl, president, Atlas Copco Mining and Rock Excavation Business Area. MEYCO Equipment invented the first machine based on the rotor principle—the MEYCO GM and later the MEYCO Piccola.
