Lithium One has received a positive preliminary economic assessment (PEA) from ARA Worley Parsons for the Sal de Vida lithium and potash brine project at Salar del Hombre Muerto in northwestern Argentina. The PEA outlines an operation producing 25,000 mt/y of lithium carbonate and 107,000 mt/y of potash over an estimated life of more than 40 years. Capital costs to develop the project are estimated at $356 million. Investment payback is estimated at less than four years.
A Korean consortium of KORES, LG International, and GS Caltex is funding up to $15 million in feasibility work to earn a 30% interest in the Sal de Vida project.
