Semafo has initiated operations at an on-site exploration laboratory at its Mana gold mine in Burkina Faso. The new assay lab is NI 43-101 compliant and can handle 500–600 samples per day. Also, ALS Minerals Division of Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso has established an independent on-site preparation facility at Mana designed to crush and pulverize up to 500 pulp samples per day.

“These new assay testing and preparation facilities will be fundamental to improving our turnaround and reporting process moving forward,” said Semafo Vice President, Exploration and Mining Geology Michel Crevier. Semafo is also contemplating an expansion of the exploration preparation laboratory to increase its processing capacity to up to 900 samples per day at an estimated cost of $150,000.
