Orezone Gold continues to generate positive drill results from an ongoing 170,000-m infill and expansion drill program at its 100%-owned Bombore gold project in Burkina Faso. The two objectives of the program are to expand and upgrade sulphide resources through core drilling at depth and to upgrade and expand near-surface oxide resources through RC drilling. With 71% of the planned drilling completed and 50% of the assays reported as of mid-October 2011, results continued to indicate success in achieving both objectives, Orezone said.

Six drill rigs were in operation (five diamond drill and one RC), and the Bombore program was on track to complete 80,000 m of diamond drilling and 90,000 m of RC drilling by year-end 2011. Analytical results will continue through the first quarter of 2012, with a full resource update planned for release in the second quarter. Orezone also reported that open-ended mineralization (both shallow oxide and deeper sulphide extensions) has been discovered outside of the 2010 resource model and will warrant further drilling in 2012.

A Bombore environmental impact study and metallurgical and optimization studies are proceeding on schedule. A detailed socio-economic field inventory was completed in September 2011, and an interim report was scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2011.
