Inter-Citic Minerals announced in early August 2011 it has allocated approximately C$6.3 million to exploration in 2011 of its Dachang gold project in Qinghai province, western China. The exploration program will include up to 25,000 m of drilling and 10,000 m of trenching and is geared toward further resource growth on new areas of the property. The company will also systematically drill under the current resource area of the Dachang Main Zone (DMZ), which has only been drilled to a vertical depth of about 150 m from surface.

Exploration in 2011 will continue in the Acadia, XP, and NR-1 Zones, as well as new work off the eastern end of the DMZ, where a gap between known mineralization extends for approximately 4 km under thicker overburden. The DMZ currently has measured and indicated resources totaling 17.2 million mt, grading 3.41 g/mt gold and containing 1.88 million oz of gold. (www.inter-citic.com)
