Asia Now Resources, a Toronto-based company, has accelerated the exploration program at its Beiya project in Yunnan province, China, by mobilizing six additional drill rigs to the property. The accelerated program is in response to good assays returned for recently completed holes that indicate a high-grade gold, silver and base metal zone at Beiya North, adjacent to Asia Now’s existing Beiya gold mine.

The increased drilling at Beiya North is part of a drill plan totaling 17,400 m and covering all of the Beiya properties. The program includes infill drilling on an 80-m by 80-m grid to prove up an NI 43-101 compliant resource on the main, thick Beiya North gold-silver zone, which was confirmed by drilling at a spacing of 160 m by 160 m in 2009, and drilling at larger step-out spacing to test potential high-grade copper-gold zones that extend from the Beiya mine.

Asia Now has earned a 72% interest in the Beiya North property, with the option of increasing to 90%. The Beiya mine is the largest gold mine in Yunnan province. A mine expansion program is currently in progress that targets a production increase to 200,000 oz/y of gold.
