Potash One reported in early April 2010 it has placed its first order for long-lead-delivery alloyed materials required to fabricate the evaporation/crystallization equipment at its Legacy potash solution mining project 80 km northwest of Regina, Saskatchewan. The evaporation/crystallization plant is being designed and supplied by Whiting Equipment Canada and will be the core of the Legacy processing facility. The order will enable Whiting to begin delivery of major equipment to the Legacy site in 2012. Commissioning and startup of the mine are planned for late 2013.

In addition to maintaining the project schedule, Potash One said the purchase of the specialty clad plate material at this time allows it to take advantage of reduced pricing and readily available shop space currently being offered by suppliers.

In late February 2010, Potash One submitted an environmental impact statement (EIS) for the Legacy project to the Saskatchewan Ministry of the Environment. According to the company, it anticipates technical review of the EIS and subsequent Ministry advice pertaining to public consultations and requests for specific additional information will require several months. On that basis, Potash One said it expects the final decision on environmental approval before the end of 2010.
