Designed and built in Sweden, JLT Mobile Computers’ JLT8404 rugged tablet PC has been upgraded to include a number of technological innovations, including a new low-voltage Intel Atom processor. This energy-efficient chip runs at 1.6 GHz, providing higher performance and enhanced 3-D graphic capabilities for users. The upgrade also offers 2 gigabytes of RAM, and the PC is available with a choice of Microsoft Windows 7 or Windows XP. The JLT8404 also features a high-performance Sierra Wireless wide area network (WAN) module. The military standard (MIL STD 810F) JLT8404, specifically designed to withstand harsh environments, retains past features such as a sturdy IP65 aircraft grade aluminum chassis, sunlightviewable 8.4-in. color SunView touch screen, Bluetooth and 3G/GPRS connectivity, and much improved, highly accurate GPS performance. According to the company, the tablet PC is a fully integrated unit, with no moving or external parts, is water and dust proof, survives drop tests to 1.2 m and withstands temperatures ranging from -20°C to +50°C. www.jltmobile.com |
