TMEIC GE has developed a Waste Heat Energy Recovery Solution for industrial furnaces, using a process that the company claims generates emission-free, clean electricity with zero fuel cost using hot waste gases before they are released into the atmosphere. A 100-t/h reheat furnace can produce enough waste heat to deliver 2,000,000 kW/h per year, using a 250-kW power unit, representing up to 1,800 tons of CO2 emissions saved. The patent-pending process from TMEIC GE uses proven Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) technology and offers scalable power generation based on furnace capacity (250 kW–1 MW), and recoverable power for every furnace operating hour. Benefits of waste heat energy recovery include: reduced utility dependence, power generated from waste with zero fuel cost, low maintenance,  and reduced carbon footprint. TMEIC GE says its waste heat recovery solution can be used to obtain renewable energy incentives in the form of tax credits.
