With Sat-Fi, Globalstar said its customers can use their current smartphones, tablets, and laptops to send and receive communicationswhen traveling beyond cellular coverage. According to the company, Sat-Fi’s superior performance provides extremely fast mobile satellite data speeds and clear voice communications. Through a convenient smartphone app, which enables connectivity between any Wi-Fi-enabled device and the Sat-Fi satellite hot spot, subscribers can easily send and receive email and SMS text messages and make voice calls from their own device.
Sat-Fi’s key features include easy initial setup; affordable airtime plans; simple 10-digit dialing, caller ID and access to contacts; connections with up to eight users at a time; and the ability to reach emergency responders should it become necessary.
