The JRB VersaLoc by Paladin Construction Group incorporates a concept in quick couplers designed to increase excavator productivity and safety. The JRB VersaLoc features the ability to handle multi-pin spreads as well as various pin diameters. This gives the customer the versatility to change out a large variety of attachments in seconds, without leaving the cab. The quick coupler has a pilot operated check valve to assure the cylinder is locked in the case of hydraulic pressure loss.
Additionally, the JRB VersaLoc features a patent pending detent lock on the stick pin that retains the attachment. Additional safety features include a slide wedge that is retained on both sides of the pin and mechanical lock arms that prevent the wedge from accidentally being retracted. Operators are provided with both visual locking confirmation as well as a fail-safe release procedure that requires the operator to engage the release button for 2 seconds while automatically sounding an audible alarm. The JRB VersaLoc is available for excavators from 25,000 lb (11 metric tons) to 100,000 lb (45 metric tons). Hook widths range from 9.75 in. (248 mm) to 17.18 in. (436 mm) and pin spreads range from 13.7 in. (348 mm) to 24.9 in. (632 mm). It accommodates a pin diameter from 2.5 in. (60 mm) to 4.3 in. (110 mm).
