South Africa is set to complete construction of a 44-mile pipeline in 2013 to supply reservoir water in the northern part of the country to local coal mines, Water and Environmental Affairs Minister Edna Molewa announced.

The De Hoop Dam in Limpopo Province is nearly finished and water storage has begun, Molewa said. Work on a separate pipeline supplying water elsewhere in the province is under way.
