Clariant, a supplier of specialty chemicals to the mining industry, recently presented the results of a research study on phosphoric acid esters as potential alternatives to the sulfidizer-xanthate method currently used by most operations to recover oxide copper. Linda Mahlangu, Clariant’s metallurgist for Sub-Sahara Africa mining solutions, presented a research paper titled, A Revıew of Phosphorıc Acıd Esters for the Flotatıon of Oxidized Copper Mınerals at the Eighth International Flotation Conference (Flotation 2017, held November 13-16 in Cape Town, South Africa).
