BHP Billiton announced several management changes. Athalie Williams will join the GMC on January 1, 2015, to replace Mike Fraser as president, human resources. Fraser will become president and COO-elect Africa of theproposed demerged company. Daniel Malchuk, currently president, aluminum manganese and nickel (AMN), will become president, copper, effective March 1, 2015. He will replace Peter Beaven who was appointed CFO in October following Graham Kerr's appointment as CEO-elect of the proposednew company. Edgar Basto, who has been acting president, copper, will move to a new senior leadership role. Effective Jan-uary 1, 2015, Mike Henry will move to the role of president, coal. Dean Dalla Valle who is currently president,coal, will relocate to Melbourne and will become president, HSE, marketing and technology. Jane McAloon, president, governance and group company secretary, has decided to leave in July2015 after an eight-year career. Margaret Taylor will join as company secretary.

Barrick Gold Corp. appointed Sergio Fuentes as executive project director for Pascua-Lama. Fuentes was most recently vice president, projects, for Codelco. Shaun Usmar was appointed senior executive vice president and CFO designate, following the departure of Ammar Al-Joundi.

Vale announced that Peter Poppinga will assume the position of executive director for ferrous minerals. José Carlos Martins, who previously held the position, has left the company. Poppinga joined Vale in 1999 in the iron orecommercial area. In 2011, he was appointed executive director of base metals and IT. Jennifer Maki will take over as executive director of base metals.

IAMGOLD has reorganized its top executive leadership, reducing the team by 40%. The following will report to Steve Letwin, president and CEO: Gordon Stothart, executive vice president and COO; Carol Banducci, executive vice president and CFO; Benjamin Little, senior vice president corporate affairs, people and safety; Craig MacDougall, senior vice president exploration; and Jeffery Snow, general counsel and senior vice president, business development. Robert Carreau, senior vice president, health, safety and sustainability; Denis Miville-Deschênes, senior vice president, project development; and Paul Olmsted, senior vice president, corporate development, are leaving the company.

Stillwater Mining appointed Christopher Bateman as CFO. Bateman will succeed Greg Wing, who will retire.

Denison Mines Corp. appointed Peter Longo vice president project development. Most recently, he was vice president of operations for Claude Resources. At Denison, he will be responsible for progressing the Wheeler River project and working closely with AREVA on the McClean, Midwest and SABRE projects.

Golden Minerals appointed Andrew Sharp as general manager for the Velardena properties located in northeastern Durango State, Mexico. Most recently, he was the vice president of technical services for Silver Standard Resources.

Claude Resources appointed Brian Skanderbeg as president and CEO. He joined Claude in 2007 and was appointed senior vice president and COO in 2012.

Katanga Mining announced that Richmond Fenn, COO, has resigned to pursue other opportunities within the Glencore Group. Don Peterson, head of mining operations, has been appointed to act as interim COO.

Chilean copper producer Antofagasta has announced the appointment of Iván Arriagada, a former executive of the state-owned Codelco, as CEO of its mining division. Arriagada is a former commercial engineer with experience at BHP Billiton. He takes the helm from Diego Hernandez.

Lydian International announced that John Naisbitt has assumed the role of project execution lead for the Amulsar gold project. Marc Leduc, COO, will be providing transition support services until the end of 2014, at which time he will leave Lydian.

Copper North Mining Corp. appointed Joseph Ringwald as a consultant and advisor to the company as project manager to oversee all work related to the completion of a new feasibility study. Ringwald will work closely with the joint engineering team of JDS Energy and Mining Inc. and Beijing General Research Institute of Mining and Metallurgy to undertake a new feasibility study for the Carmacks copper-gold-silver project in Central Yukon.

Champion Iron appointed David Cataford as the vice president of engineering. He will assume responsibility for delivering the feasibility study for the Consolidated Fire Lake North (CFLN) project.

Goldgroup Mining Inc. announced that David Ingram, a co-founder and former director, has been appointed to the board of directors. Mike Clark, CFO, has resigned.

Pilbara Minerals appointed Phil Tribbick as mining consultant of operations ahead of the startup of mining at its Tabba Tabba Tantalum project in western Australia.

Energia Minerals appointed Graeme Collins to the newly created role of director of operations-Italy to oversee the development of its flagship Gorno zinc project in northern Italy. Most recently, he was general manager of operations for Wolfram Camp Mining Pty Ltd.

Dr. Barry Wills, of MEI, was the recipient of The Distinguished Service Award of the International Mineral Processing Council (IMPC). This special honor is awarded to persons who have over a sustained period made distinguished and noteworthy contributions to the field of Mineral Processing. Dr. Wills is the third recipient of this award. After gaining industrial experience in Zambia and in U.K., he devoted 22 years to teaching mineral processing students at Camborne School of Mines, in Cornwall, U.K. From his needs as a lecturer grew a seminal and successful book "Mineral processing Technology" in 1979. In 1999, he created, along with his daughter Amanda, MEI Online, now a respected and well-known source of data and information.

United States Steel Corp. announced that Joseph R. Scherrbaum will serve as acting vice president, industrial solutions, Geoff M. Turk will serve as vice president, service center solutions, and Lawrence W. Sutherland will serve as acting head, mining solutions, effective January 1, 2015.

John I. Kyle joined Behre Dolbear Group to oversee the firm's business throughout the Americas region.

Kennametal Inc. appointed Donald Nolan president, CEO and member of the board of directors, while electing William R. Newlin, lead director, to serve as chairman of the board. Carlos Cardoso will retire on December 31. Nolan has served Avery Dennison Corp. since 2008, most recently as president of the Materials Group.

Aperam appointed Frederico Ayres Lima COO of stainless and electrical steel South America, following the resignation of Clenio Guimar.

Tons Per Hour hired Dr. Paul C. Lessard as vice president in charge of technical solutions and marketing. Previously, he worked at Graniterock in product development.

Dressta appointed Howard Dales as vice president of global sales. His previous position was as a Shanghai-based regional director for CNH Industrial.
