Octagon Systems described its new TRAKR as a cost-effective, rugged GPS tracking device designed for the Internet of Things (IoT). Built for outdoor deployment, the TRAKR features an onboard GPS, 9-axis sensor (accelerometer, gyro, compass) and digital I/O for control and status.
Supporting long range WiFi, cellular and Ethernet connectivity, the TRAKR can connect to any type of outdoor or indoor network infrastructure. It provides real-time access to mobile onboard or fixed field devices for remote monitoring and control and position tracking. Key benefits, according to the supplier, include easy integration into existing fleet management systems, improved visibility of fixed and light duty mobile assets, and remote control of digital I/O. The unit covers wireless 802.11a/b/g/n or cellular 3G/4G, and operates over a wide temperature range of -40°C to 75°C.
